James
I recently acquired a number of beautiful vintage ties from the widow of her deceased husband. Unfortunately, they have a musty odor. Is there a simple way to remove the odor wothout spending a fortune on drycleaning?
Janet:
Dry cleaning will not necessarily remove the odor. Try spraying Fabreze or any enzyme agent that comabats odors (easily found at local supermarkets or drug stores) on the ties. Or, you can try the old fashioned way... put the ties into a plastic box with some cat litter for a week and see if the litter absords the oders.
