I am kinda confused on what glam rock clothes are supposed to look like.
Janet:
Glam rock refers to seventies performers whose dress and acts were overtly glamorous. Bryan Ferry, David Bowie, Elton John and Rod Stewart are some of the better known "Glam Rockers". The more popular the stars became, the more they dressed in a glamorous and androgynous manner. Male stars wore satin, glitter, high heels and heavy makeup. David Bowies "Ziggy" haircut was widely copied by his fans and the "Rooster" and "Shag" versions were popularized by Rod Stewart. Female glam rockers such as Suzi Quatro, Chrissie Hynde and Pat Benatar drew their inspiration from the male groups and were just as glamorous and theatrical, wearing everything from disco spandex with stiletto heels, ruffles with leather, and Martian style space suits. Check out the glam rock look on pictures of 70s record album covers of David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Led Zeppelin and Labelle.
