I was surfing to find how to coordinate ties/shirts in a traditional sense (vs. Regis).
Janet:
According to Style Expert/Author Lloyd Boston, choosing shirts and ties is a man's personal expression of taste. A simple formula is to start with a crisp white shirt (for a clean palette) so that there are very few ties you can't wear with it. For solid shirts avoid ties that have excessive color. Match patterned shirts with solids or lightly printed patterns or colored ties. There are no rules, but try to avoid excessive pattern play. You'll get the most options with solid colored shirts. Read Lloyd's book, Men Of Color, for more style tips.
