 Shopper's Alert - Vintage Luxe

Hello Fashion Diggers...

Turn of the Century Hatbox at Ellen Christine EclecticStill writing your holiday gift list? Indulge your family and friends by adding vintage luxuries to the list this season. And don't forget to include yourself...we did! From old world charm to modern glitz here are our current favorites:

For antique treasures check out the magnificent 19th century Chinese coat, the beautiful Deco platinum watch and the Edwardian ring. The Victorian hat box is a perfect display piece and the velvet Art Deco opera coat will take you through the entire holiday season. Give Hollywood glam gifts with the sparkle like the 30s Czech baguette choker, Whiting + Davis mesh bag with brass gilded Art Deco frame and Lanvin Paris gold lame evening blouse...don't miss the beaded evening purse, velvet capelet with chinchilla fur trim and the men's scarf in a paisley twill with long fringe.

For clearly vintage gifts check out the Lucite box purse with tons of rhinestone decoration and the etched Lucite evening clutch. For fab 50s luxe gifts we like the sweet black wool cardigan with antique gold beads and pearls, the little black velvet evening capelet with rhinestones (very Sabrina), the gold debutante bow clutch bag and the black beaded evening bag with vivid floral design. The sleeveless sequined sweater shells and the red wool scarf with attached fur tails are must-haves for the chic friends on your list and the Pucci pants and top set is perfect for the MOD hostess...all space-age cadets will love the 60s MOD silver pendants and necklaces. For the fashionista on your list we recommend the unique Gucci muff (can also be worn as a shoulder bag) with black beaded pull closure.

For men on your list check out the classic vintage scarves, shirts, ties and jackets...especially the funky smoking jackets like the 50s plaids and the red playboy jacket.

 Ask Janet
Ask JanetQuestion Spectra: I am looking for a particular girls cardigan from the '60s. Light gray wool with dark gray trim, dark gray suede elbow patches and silver buttons with thistle design. Don't know whether it was made by MacGregor, Pendleton, but the thistle buttons and elbow patches are distinctive. Please help, if you can!
