| Description: This piece made it to Orlando Vintage all the way from the Czech Republic! The long, woven cotton is gray and black striped on the skirt and the eight-inch gathered hem at the bottom. The stripes on the skirt are vertical, while the stripes on the hem are diagonal. The hem also features black and yellow embroidery. Small loops and twirls comprise the embroidery pattern. The design is simple, yet effective against the monochromatic stripes. A snap button and two hook and eyes open the skirt up. There is a 10-inch opening where one would expect something like a zipper, which is key to dating the skirt around the 1940s. The security in fastening the skirt lies in the material slightly overlapping one side when securing the snap button. |
