Shop Name: Metro Retro
Circa: 1940s
Description: This beautifully constructed 100% silk 40's dress has pink cuffs and collar that is overlaid with beige lace and then adorned with faux pink pearls (see photo). Sewn underneath the collar, navy silk begins a V-neckline and softly forces the silk to fold and form a lapel 1/2 the size of the collar. Two diagonal seams have been placed below the bust to create pleats above it. Two thread loops keep a silk belt in place, and underneath peplums have been placed. The back has an inverted V pleat in the center to create a dramatic look. On the side, a metal zipper is sewn as well as a hidden hook and eye to keep the V neckline in place. The dress is in excellent condition, but the belt by the buckle has some soiling and wear (see photo). Label reads designed in 100% silk by Seymour Jacobson.
